Another, created by Yukito Ayatsuji, is a Japanese series that blends horror, mystery, and drama to create a dark and tense atmosphere. The story centers on Class 3-3 at Yomiyama North Middle School, which is cursed by a phenomenon that brings death to students and their relatives. Akazawa Izumi is a classmate in 3-3 and a friend of Yukari Sakuragi. She holds a grudge against Mei Misaki and Kouichi Sakakibara for ignoring the class's countermeasures against the curse, believing their defiance puts everyone at risk. While the novel portrayed her less favorably, the anime adaptation developed her character significantly more, making her a more complex and sympathetic figure.
