About this figure
Banpresto's Ichiban Kuji line features Takao from Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio: Ars Nova as a Kyun-Chara figure. Standing approximately 100mm tall and made from ABS and PVC, this compact collectible captures one of the series' most beloved characters in a charming, deformed style. Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio: Ars Nova is set in a near-future where a mysterious fleet of warships known as the Fleet of Fog has sealed off the world's oceans, cutting off global maritime trade and communication. Each Fog ship is equipped with a Mental Model, a humanoid avatar that grants the vessel sentience and personality. Takao is the Mental Model of the heavy cruiser Takao, who initially serves as an antagonist but gradually develops human emotions after encountering the series protagonist, Gunzou Chihaya. Her journey from cold naval combatant to a character discovering her own humanity is central to the series' themes. The anime adaptation by SANZIGEN aired as a 12-episode television series with a sequel film, Ars Nova DC, released in 2015. The series is based on a seinen manga and has been licensed by Discotek Media and Crunchyroll.
