Hanekawa Tsubasa is a central character in the Monogatari series by Nisio Isin. She is Koyomi Araragi's classmate at Naoetsu Private High School, where she is regarded as a model student and overachiever admired by many. Behind her kind and soft-spoken exterior lies a tense family life and suppressed emotions that manifest through supernatural oddities. During Golden Week, she was bewitched by an oddity that gave birth to her alternate personality, Black Hanekawa, responsible for a series of attacks around town. Tsubasa is the titular protagonist of multiple story arcs including Tsubasa Cat, Tsubasa Family, and Tsubasa Tiger, making her one of the most narratively significant characters in the series.
