Guts is the protagonist of Kentaro Miura's dark fantasy manga Berserk, a former mercenary who wanders a brutal medieval world haunted by demonic forces. As the Black Swordsman, Guts hunts Apostles, monstrous beings transformed by the Behelit artifacts, following the devastating betrayal by his former comrade Griffith during the Eclipse. Wielding his massive Dragonslayer sword and armed with a prosthetic arm containing a cannon, Guts battles against fate itself in a quest for vengeance and survival against overwhelming supernatural odds.
