Pochita is one of the most central characters in Chainsaw Man, serving as the companion to the protagonist Denji. Though he appears as a small orange dog with a chainsaw protruding from his head, Pochita is actually the Chainsaw Devil, one of the most powerful and feared devils in existence. After Denji finds Pochita injured and starving, the two become close friends and survive together by hunting devils for money. When Denji is betrayed and killed, Pochita saves him by merging with his body and becoming his heart, transforming Denji into Chainsaw Man. Despite his terrifying power, Pochita is loyal, affectionate, and surprisingly gentle, forming the emotional core of the story.
