Medicom Toy's Toei Retro Sofubi Collection features Daimajin Doruge from Choujin Barom-1 in a Middle Size Ver. release. This prepainted sofubi figure stands approximately 150mm tall, offering a more compact option for collectors of classic tokusatsu figures. Choujin Barom-1 is a 1972 tokusatsu series created by Shotaro Ishinomori, following two heroes who transform into the combined superhero Barom-1 to fight the villainous Doruge and his army of monsters. Daimajin Doruge is the central antagonist of the series, a powerful demon-like figure who creates the Doruge Majin by transplanting his cells into humans, mutating them into monsters with plant or animal motifs. In the second half of the series, Doruge creates new agents from parts of his own body, resulting in bodypart-themed creatures. The monster designs were created by Mikami Mutsuo with modeling by Murase Keizō, and the body part motif was inspired by Gangar and Ganmons from Giant Robo. This Middle Size Ver. figure at 150mm tall captures the imposing presence of Daimajin Doruge in soft vinyl, making it an accessible collectible for fans of classic Toei tokusatsu.
