The Murder Machine is a version of Batman from Earth -44, a world where Alfred Pennyworth was killed by Batman's rogues. In his grief, this Batman accepted Cyborg's offer to integrate an AI version of Alfred into his brain. The AI gradually took control, transforming him into a cold, calculating cyborg that murdered his world's villains and eventually its heroes. He was recruited by the Batman Who Laughs to invade the primary DC Universe as part of the Dark Knights.
