This dramatic diorama statue captures the iconic battle between Evangelion and Angel. Evangelion Unit-01 is piloted by Shinji Ikari, who is pressured by his father Gendo into piloting to fight the Angel Sachiel. Without training, Shinji is unable to destroy it, and Unit-01 suffers cranial damage. Due to the nervous system synchronization, Shinji is overwhelmed by pain and loses consciousness, causing the Evangelion to go berserk and savagely kill the Angel on its own. Sachiel is one of a race of monstrous beings known as Angels whose awakening was foretold in the Dead Sea Scrolls. The Angels possess near-impenetrable AT Fields, making Nerv's Evangelion bio-mechanical mechas the only weapons capable of combating them.
