Uchoten presents Kitaro from the classic manga and anime series GeGeGe no Kitaro, standing approximately 150mm tall. This figure depicts the titular character of Shigeru Mizuki's influential supernatural series. GeGeGe no Kitaro, originally created in 1960, follows the young Kitaro, the last survivor of the Ghost Tribe, as he strives to maintain peace between humans and yokai, the spirits and monsters of Japanese folklore. He is accompanied by the remains of his father, Medama-Oyaji, a mummified Ghost Tribesman reincarnated as a living eyeball, along with allies including Nezumi-Otoko the rat-man and Neko-Musume the cat-girl. The series was instrumental in popularizing yokai folklore throughout Japan. While the GeGeGe no Kitaro version portrays Kitaro as a friendly boy seeking harmony between humans and yokai, his earlier incarnation in Hakaba Kitaro depicted him as a darker, more mischievous and greedy character. The series has been adapted into multiple anime, live-action films, and video games over the decades. This Uchoten figure captures Kitaro's distinctive appearance from the long-running franchise.
