This figure of Shinigami is produced by Uchoten as part of the Gegege no Kitaro collectible line. Standing at approximately 180mm tall, it depicts one of the recurring supernatural entities from Shigeru Mizuki's legendary yokai manga and anime series. In Mizuki's works, Shinigami are a race of death spirits who monitor human life span candles and escort souls to Jigoku, working under Enma-Daio in an office-like bureaucratic structure. They must meet a quota of twelve human souls per year or risk losing their position. The Shinigami who appears in GeGeGe no Kitaro notably teams up with the Witch and Nezumi-Otoko in an attempt to steal Kitaro's soul and take over the surface world. These beings have a distinctive skeletal appearance with square-shaped heads, prominent jaws, and upside-down heart-shaped nasal cavities, dressed in long baggy robes. The figure stands at 180mm tall and captures the iconic eerie design that has made Shinigami a memorable presence across multiple anime adaptations of the series, from the 1972 anime through the 2018 rendition.
