Aniplex presents a 1/8 scale figure set featuring both Madara (Nyanko-sensei) and Natsume Takashi from the 2018 animated film Natsume's Book of Friends: The Movie — Tied to the Temporal World (also known as Ephemeral Bond). Based on Yuki Midorikawa's manga and anime series, the film was produced by Shuka and directed by Takahiro Ōmori. In the film, Takashi Natsume possesses the ability to see and communicate with yōkai, a power he inherited alongside the Book of Friends — a notebook containing the names of yōkai defeated by his exorcist grandmother Reiko. His self-proclaimed bodyguard Nyanko-sensei, the powerful yōkai Madara in cat form, accompanies him. The story takes a peculiar turn when a demon seed attaches to Nyanko-sensei during a visit to Gochou, growing overnight into a tree that bears three fruits. After Nyanko-sensei eats them, he splits into three kittens, sending Natsume on a journey to uncover what happened in the town his grandmother once visited. The figure stands approximately 250mm tall and is made from ABS, PVC, and stainless steel components, capturing the bond between Natsume and his feline companion.
