About this figure
Bandai presents King Caesar as part of the Movie Monster EX Series, based on his appearance in the 1974 film Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla. This figure stands approximately 6 inches tall and celebrates one of Toho's most unique kaiju designs. King Caesar is a guardian deity of Okinawa in the Godzilla mythos, awakened to protect humanity when the alien-controlled MechaGodzilla threatens the world. In the 1974 film, King Caesar is summoned through an ancient prophecy and song, rising from a mountainside to do battle alongside Godzilla against the mechanical duplicate. Despite his heroic role, King Caesar did not make another film appearance until 2004's Godzilla: Final Wars, making him one of the franchise's more rarely seen monsters. His design draws inspiration from traditional Okinawan shisa lion dog statues, giving him a distinctly cultural and mythological identity compared to other kaiju in the Toho roster. The Movie Monster EX Series from Bandai is known for its detailed sculpts and paint applications. This figure remains one of the few proper King Caesar figures available, as noted by collectors who consider it highly sought after.
