Good Smile Racing and Good Smile Company collaborated on figma SP-119, presenting Hatsune Miku in her Racing 2019 Ver. as the official character of the Hatsune Miku GT Project. The Racing Miku initiative is part of the Hatsune Miku GT Project, which sponsors a racing team in Japan's SUPER GT series. Each year, a new illustrator designs a unique Racing Miku outfit, and the 2019 version was created by artist Annindouf. The design features Miku in a racing-themed outfit with voluminous twintails that were recreated using translucent parts on the scale figure version to give the tips a distinctive appearance. The virtual idol Hatsune Miku, originally from Crypton Future Media's Vocaloid software, has become a cultural phenomenon spanning music, games, and merchandise. The figma is constructed from ABS and PVC materials and was sculpted by a team including Koyama Shigeto, Annin Doufu, Koshinuma Shinji, Asai (APSY) Masaki, and Asahina Nobuhiko.
