Karen Inukai is the main female protagonist of Inu ni Nattara Suki na Hito ni Hirowareta, also known as My Life as Inukai-San's Dog. Though she appears cool and expressionless on the outside, she is an out-of-this-world dog lover. When her classmate Pochita is mysteriously transformed into a dog, Karen finds him on the street and brings him home. Unaware of his human identity, she eagerly seeks physical contact with him at every opportunity, creating a comedic and awkward situation. Her name is fittingly composed of characters meaning "add" and "love," while her surname combines "dog" and "keep."
