Honda Koji Shokai presents Zashikiwarashi in Special Color as part of the Japanese Yokai Girls collection, standing approximately 70mm tall. In Japanese folklore, zashiki warashi are house spirits that appear as ghostly children around five or six years old with blushing red faces. Girls are said to wear patterned kimonos with either short bobbed or long tied-back hair. These spirits are beloved for their mischief — leaving children's footprints in ashes, making phantom noises like spinning tops and crinkling paper — and are considered guardian spirits and gods of luck. A house inhabited by a zashiki warashi is believed to prosper, while one that drives the spirit away falls into decline. Only children and the home's owners can reportedly see them.
