Heathside Trading presents Leo from Osamu Tezuka's Jungle Taitei, also known as Jungle Emperor Leo or Kimba the White Lion. Standing approximately 140mm tall, this figure captures the iconic white lion in collectible form. Jungle Taitei tells the story of Leo, a white lion cub captured in Africa and thrown into a stormy sea during transport. Saved by the veterinarian and explorer Higeoyaji and his nephew Kenichi, Leo carries his mother's dying words to return to the jungle and protect his friends. The narrative follows Leo's journey back to Africa, where he faces the hunter Ham Egg and eventually grows into an adult lion who must lead and defend his jungle kingdom. The story explores themes of coexistence between humans and animals, environmental stewardship, and courage in the face of exploitation. A stage musical adaptation commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Akita Art Village ran from April through November 2024. The figure stands 140mm tall and is produced by Heathside Trading, representing Leo from Osamu Tezuka's classic Jungle Emperor series.
