Unbox Industries presents the Kanashimi no Belladonna Watercolour Edition, a limited collectible statue of Jeanne from the 1973 animated film Belladonna of Sadness. Produced under license by Mushi Productions, this edition represents one of the penultimate releases in the figure line and includes a mini one-sheet alongside the figure. Belladonna of Sadness is widely regarded as one of the most shocking, beautiful, and divisive full-length animated features ever produced. Created by Japanese animation studio Mushi Productions, the film follows Jeanne, a peasant woman who endures terrible abuse after being accused of witchcraft, and her subsequent acts of retribution against those who wronged her. The film's psychedelic art style and mature themes made it a singular work in anime history. The statue stands approximately 30cm tall and is crafted from cold cast resin. It was sculpted by the legendary Cosmo Liquid under the direct scrutiny of the Mushi Pro team to ensure fidelity to the film's distinctive aesthetic. The Watercolour Edition comes packaged in a heavy stock box with new packaging and mini prints, distinguishing it from other editions of the release.
