Ruka Sarashina is a supporting character in Kanojo, Okarishimasu, a series centered around rental girlfriend services. Ruka was born with a heart condition that causes her heart to beat slower than average, leading her to seek a lover who can help her cope with this affliction. She falls in love with the protagonist Kazuya Kinoshita after being moved by his sincerity, and subsequently blackmails him into becoming her trial boyfriend under the condition that she keeps secret the relationship between Kazuya and Chizuru. Complicating matters further, Ruka begins working at the same job as Kazuya, making her a persistent presence in his life.
