Bandai Spirits presents the Space Colony Side 7 as part of the Kidou Senshi Gundam (Mobile Suit Gundam) figure line in its 1st Version release. In the Universal Century timeline of Mobile Suit Gundam, space colonies are giant artificial structures designed for large-scale human habitation, with approximately 10 billion people living in colonies by the outbreak of the One Year War. Side 7 is located at Lagrangian Point 3 (L3), positioned to the side of Earth away from the Moon. The colonies are primarily O'Neill "Island 3" type cylindrical structures with three giant mirror panels that reflect sunlight inside. Side 7 holds particular significance in the Gundam narrative as the location where the original series begins — it is where Amuro Ray encounters the RX-78-2 Gundam and where the White Base makes its desperate stand against Zeon forces. This 1st Version figure is produced by Bandai Spirits and depicts the iconic space colony from the original Mobile Suit Gundam series.
