Suletta Mercury is a shy, sheltered girl from the planet Mercury who transfers to the Asticassia School of Technology, where she pilots the experimental mobile suit Aerial. The series is notable as the first mainline Gundam entry to feature a female protagonist and explores themes of capitalism, political corruption, and the ethical implications of GUND technology, originally developed to mitigate disabilities caused by space habitation. Suletta's relationship with Miorine Rembran and her mother Prospera's hidden agenda form the emotional and thematic core of the story.
