Nezuko Kamado is the younger sister of protagonist Tanjiro Kamado, and the sole survivor alongside him of a demon attack that massacred their family. Transformed into a demon by the attack, Nezuko retains her human emotions and protective instincts, resisting the urge to consume human flesh through sheer willpower. She travels with Tanjiro in a wooden box during daylight and fights alongside him using her Blood Demon Art, which produces destructive pink flames. Her bond with her brother and her refusal to harm humans make her a unique figure among demon-kind.
