Kinnikuman Super Phoenix, originally known as Phoenixman, was born on the same day as Kinnikuman and five others, making them all potential heirs to the Kinniku Throne. Raised in poverty, Phoenixman grew jealous of Kinnikuman's privileged life as prince of Planet Kinniku. The God of Intelligence chose him as a herald, granting him special powers to compete in a bloody tournament to decide the next king. As Super Phoenix, he became a brutal, mocking, and merciless wrestler, willing to injure anyone in his path. After his defeat by Kinnikuman, he returned to his former kind self and later reappeared alongside other Throne candidates to fight against the Omega's Six Spears and the choshins.
