In This Corner of the World is a manga by Fumiyo Kōno, adapted into an anime film by MAPPA and director Sunao Katabuchi in 2016. The story follows Suzu, a young woman and talented illustrator living in Hiroshima and Kure during World War II. At eighteen, she married Shūsaku, a navy civilian who had admired her since childhood, and moved to Kure to join his family. As the war intensified, Kure, home to the Imperial Japanese Navy's largest military base, faced devastating U.S. air raids in 1945. Despite food shortages and the growing threat of bombing, Suzu persevered, using her creativity and resilience to navigate the hardships of wartime life while worrying about her hometown of Eba in Hiroshima. The figure stands approximately 100mm tall and is produced by Genco, offering fans a tangible tribute to Suzu's enduring spirit.
