This Ichiban Kuji figure of Inspector Koichi Zenigata is produced by Banpresto as part of the Lupin III: Cagliostro no Shiro lottery lineup. The figure stands approximately 200mm tall and is made from ABS and PVC materials. Zenigata is Lupin III's relentless pursuer and arch-rival, conceived by creator Monkey Punch as a "human Tom and Jerry" dynamic. He is based on the famous Japanese crime-fighting character Heiji Zenigata, known for throwing coins as weapons, which inspired Zenigata's signature handcuff-throwing technique. Originally introduced as Heiji Zenigata VII, the character was renamed Koichi Zenigata starting from Part 2 of the anime. His true literary counterpart, however, is Maurice Leblanc's Inspector Ganimard, who served as Arsène Lupin's rival in the original novels. Zenigata is most recognizable by his iconic trench coat, suit, and fedora ensemble. The figure captures Zenigata as he appears in The Castle of Cagliostro, the acclaimed 1979 film directed by Hayao Miyazaki. As an Ichiban Kuji prize item, it was distributed through Bandai's lottery system rather than standard retail channels.
