Utena Hiiragi, also known as Magia Baiser, is the protagonist of Gushing Over Magical Girls. Despite being a shy, ordinary girl who idolizes magical girls, she is recruited into the evil organization Enormita and given transformation powers. Her secret sadistic streak emerges in battle, creating a comedic contrast with her everyday personality. The series subverts magical girl tropes by placing a fan-turned-villain at its center, and Utena's reluctant leadership of Enormita drives much of the story's humor and conflict.
