Bandai's Figuarts ZERO line presents Ankoku Daishogun, the Great General of Darkness, from Mazinger Z Tai Ankoku Daishogun. This figure represents the fearsome leader of the Mycenae Empire, a civilization of ancient warriors who seek to retake the surface world from humanity. In the story, following the defeat of Dr. Hell, the Photon Power Laboratory and its allies believe peace has returned. However, the Mycenae Empire rises with overwhelming force, effortlessly defeating the world's robots and even overpowering Mazinger Z piloted by Koji Kabuto. The Great General of Darkness commands this invasion, and the narrative introduces the Great Mazinger as the key to countering this existential threat. The story originates from the film Mazinger Z vs. Great General of Darkness and was later expanded in the manga Shin Mazinger ZERO vs. Great General of Darkness. This D.C. (Design Craft) version of the Figuarts ZERO figure stands approximately 220mm tall and is made from ABS and PVC, capturing the imposing presence of one of the most iconic antagonists in the Mazinger franchise.
