Tokuriki Honten crafted two versions of this collectible, both made from 24-karat solid gold rather than conventional figure materials. Monkey D. Luffy is the protagonist and captain of the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece, the best-selling manga series of all time. Driven by his dream to become King of the Pirates, Luffy sails the Grand Line in search of the legendary treasure known as the One Piece. His Gum-Gum Devil Fruit powers stretch his body like rubber, and his unwavering loyalty to his crewmates defines his character throughout the epic saga. This figure stands approximately 180mm tall. The smaller of the two gold editions measures 100mm and weighs 32 grams, valued at 650,000 yen. Both versions were released on August 1st in Japan as ultra-premium collector's items.
