About this figure
This 1/1 scale figure by Figurex reproduces the Winged Victory of Samothrace, one of the most celebrated masterpieces of Hellenistic Greek sculpture. The original monument dates to approximately 190 BC and was discovered on the island of Samothrace in the northeastern Aegean Sea. The original sculpture represents the goddess Nike, the personification of Victory, standing atop a base shaped like a ship's prow. The statue is renowned for its dramatic drapery and dynamic pose, capturing the figure as though alighting on a ship's bow. The head and arms of the original are missing, and it has been exhibited at the Louvre Museum in Paris since 1884, where it stands at the top of the main staircase. The full monument stands 5.57 meters tall, with the statue alone measuring 2.75 meters. Figurex has created this full-scale reproduction, allowing collectors to own a faithful replica of one of antiquity's most iconic surviving sculptures.
