About this figure
Sum-Art presents the Sanada Ashura Hanbaten in a Bronze ver., an original sculpted figure born from the creative vision of renowned artist Takayuki Takeya. This striking piece merges Buddhist mythology with Sengoku period aesthetics. The Sanada Ashura Hanbaten continues Takeya's innovative concept of fusing the mythical beast Qilin with the Buddhist deity Ashura, creating a half-human, half-beast entity. The figure features the Ashura's traditional three heads and six arms, while incorporating Sengoku warlord design elements including kabuto helmets, armor, and weapons. The "Sanada" designation connects the piece to the legendary Sanada clan—specifically Sanada Yukimura—as the family's Rokumon Sen (six mon coin) crest represents the Six Realms of Buddhist cosmology, one of which is the Ashura realm. This crest appears on the helmet of the figure's central head, tying together religious symbolism with historical Japanese warrior culture. The figure stands approximately 300mm tall and is crafted from bronze and marble materials. It is a limited production piece, with only 99 units made to order, 40 of which were allocated for Japan. The suggested retail price was 88,000 JPY including tax.
