About this figure
Sum-Art presents the Sanada Ashura Han Baten in its Gensaku version, an original figure standing approximately 320mm tall and crafted from metal, resin, and wood materials. This imposing piece is a collaboration with renowned sculptor Takayuki Takeya. The figure represents a fusion of the mythical beast Qilin with the Buddhist deity Ashura, creating a half-human, half-beast entity known as Hanbaten. The design retains the Ashura's characteristic three heads and six arms while incorporating Sengoku period warlord aesthetics, including kabuto helmets, armor, and weapons. The "Sanada" designation connects the piece to the legendary Sanada Yukimura and the Sanada clan, whose Rokumon Sen (six mon coin) family crest represents the Six Realms of Buddhist cosmology. Notably, the Rokumon Sen emblem appears on the helmet of the central head, reinforcing this thematic link. This made-to-order statue was limited to just 99 units worldwide, with 40 allocated to Japan, and carried a suggested retail price of 88,000 JPY. The estimated release date was February 2025, making it an extremely exclusive collector's piece.
