This supernatural affliction, known as Adolescence Syndrome, leads her to test her condition by wearing a bunny girl outfit in a library. There she encounters Sakuta Azusagawa, the sole person who can still see her. Their meeting triggers a heartfelt story as Sakuta works to restore her existence. Mai is kind and selfless, eventually sacrificing herself to save Sakuta and Shoko before being revived through altered timelines.
