About this figure

Medicom Toy brings the iconic astromech droid R2-D2 into their Vintage SOFUBI collection, blending the beloved Star Wars character with Japanese sofubi artistry. Standing at 160mm tall, this figure reimagines the droid in the soft vinyl medium that Japanese collectors have cherished for decades. R2-D2 is one of the most enduring characters in the Star Wars saga, a resourceful and brave astromech droid who has served alongside heroes from Padmé Amidala to Luke Skywalker. Throughout the Skywalker saga, R2-D2 repeatedly proves instrumental in saving the day, from carrying the Death Star plans to repairing critical systems during space battles. The Vintage SOFUBI line reinterprets classic Star Wars characters through a distinctly Japanese collectible lens, with Medicom producing these exclusively for the Japanese market. This figure was sculpted by Bear Model and Frenzy, and represents the fourth entry in the Vintage SOFUBI series. The line has included other iconic characters like Darth Vader and Boba Fett, each retailing at premium prices and highly sought after by collectors on both sides of the Pacific.
