Good Smile Company presents the Tachikoma from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (Koukaku Kidotai S.A.C.) as Nendoroid #227 in a Cheerful Japan! Support version. This adorable chibi-style figure reimagines the iconic spider tank in the beloved Nendoroid aesthetic. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is set in a near-future world where cybernetic technology has blurred the lines between human and machine. The series follows Section 9, a special operations unit led by Major Motoko Kusanagi. Tachikomas are the AI-equipped spider tanks used by Section 9, known for their childlike curiosity, playful personalities, and philosophical musings that provide both comic relief and surprisingly deep commentary on consciousness and artificial intelligence. The Cheerful Japan! project was a collaboration between Good Smile Company and other figure makers to support relief efforts in Northern Japan following the 2011 earthquake, with 1000 JPY from each sale donated to aid recovery. This Nendoroid stands approximately 130mm tall, is made from ABS and PVC, and was sculpted by Nendoron and Ryuuichi. The Support version designation reflects its charitable origins.
