Shimashimatchi debuted on the Chou Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi Plus in Japan and on the Tamagotchi Connection Version 4 internationally. His name comes from the Japanese word shima, meaning stripe, and his appearance is distinctly yellow with black stripes, somewhat resembling a bumblebee, complete with pink cheeks and small round orange feet and ears. Shimashimatchi is known for his obsessive love of striped patterns, collecting all kinds of striped objects and wishing more people shared his passion. He famously says shimashimasu instead of shimasu and cannot stand polka dots. When angry, his stripes turn to zig-zags.
