About this figure

Benelic presents Pluto as part of the Astro Boy: The Greatest Robot on Earth Collection, standing approximately 144mm tall. This figure depicts the central antagonist from one of the most celebrated story arcs in Osamu Tezuka's legendary Astro Boy manga. "The Greatest Robot on Earth," originally serialized in Shonen magazine in March 1964, tells the story of a sultan named Chochi Chochi Ababa the Third who commissions the creation of Pluto, a robot designed to be the king of all robots. Pluto is sent to destroy seven of the world's most powerful robots to prove his supremacy, beginning with Montblanc in Switzerland. He then confronts Astro Boy, the robot butler North #2 with its six weaponized arms, and Brando the Turkish wrestler. The sultan later has Pluto's creator, Dr. Abullah, modify him with a self-destruct mechanism that will destroy both Pluto and his defeater if he loses another battle. This Benelic figure stands 144mm tall and captures Pluto's imposing design from the classic Tezuka manga arc, part of a collection celebrating one of Astro Boy's most influential storylines.
