Sekkou Funmatsu Koubou presents a doujin figure of Tohoku Itako from the Tohoku Zunko/Zundamon Project. This independently produced figure celebrates one of the characters from the Zunko universe. Tohoku Itako is the older sister of Tohoku Zunko, a Voiceroid and Vocaloid character originally created to help promote recovery of the Tōhoku region following the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. Zunko's character design is based on zunda-mochi, a traditional Tōhoku sweet made of green soybean paste. The Zunko family includes three sisters — Itako (the eldest), Zunko, and Kiritan (the youngest) — with Kiritan and Itako both developed for the UTAU singing synthesis platform. The family also includes a pet called Zundamon, which has gained its own popularity and received merchandise such as POP UP PARADE figures from Good Smile Company. As a doujin figure produced by Sekkou Funmatsu Koubou, this collectible represents fan-created craftsmanship outside of major commercial figure manufacturing channels.
