Ltd. in collaboration with SSS LLC. Tohoku Zunko was created to support the Tohoku region following the 2011 tsunami. Her family name references the Tohoku region, while her first name is derived from zunda mochi, a local specialty of sweetened green soybean paste on rice cakes. As a character, Zunko is a second-year high school student whose special ability is the "Zunda Arrow," which transforms any kind of mochi into zunda mochi after being struck by lightning. Her hobbies include archery and making cakes, particularly zunda mochi. She dreams of opening her own Zunda Café in Tokyo and a Zunda Shop in Akihabara. Her clothing is based on zunda mochi, and she has an older sister named Tohoku Itako, a younger sister named Tohoku Kiritan, and a pet mascot named Zundamon.
