This doujin figure of Hata no Kokoro is produced by Hoshi no Neki, based on the character from the Touhou Project series. As a doujin figure, it is a fan-made or independently produced collectible rather than an officially licensed product. Hata no Kokoro is a menreiki youkai, approximately 1500 years old but only recently sentient, who first appeared as the final boss of Touhou Hopeless Masquerade. She relies on a collection of 66 masks to express emotions, as her actual face is perpetually expressionless like a poker face. Each mask embodies a powerful emotion — joy, anger, pathos, and humor being the ones she typically uses — and impresses that emotion on both the holder and those around them. Kokoro has a naturally quiet, child-like personality with a love of the stage. When she lost her Mask of Hope, her behavior became erratic as she unconsciously leech hope from her surroundings. The masks were originally created by Toyosatomimi no Miko, who later crafted a replacement Mask of Hope modeled on her own face. Kokoro also carries Noh masks and a pair of fans which she uses as weapons.
