Groove's Isul Pullip line presents Yagen Toushirou from Touken Ranbu Online, marking the first release in an exciting collaboration between the doll manufacturer and the popular franchise. This figure stands at an impressive 295mm tall and was priced at 26,000 JPY, making it the most expensive Isul release at the time. Touken Ranbu Online is an incredibly popular Japanese online card game where players travel into the past to bring historical swords to life as personified warriors. These sword boys battle against evil forces seeking to alter the course of history. Yagen Toushirou is one such personified blade, and his doll features a very stylized anime-style faceup that is remarkably faithful to his original character design. Notably, his faceup is almost devoid of color, utilizing stark black eye makeup with no shadowing, grey-shaded lips, and grey eye chips, creating a distinctive monochromatic aesthetic that suits the character's personality. Released in May, distribution outside Japan was somewhat limited.
