This product is part of the Generation 1 continuity family's Kiss Players segment, a unique spinoff blending human characters with Transformers lore. Atari Hitotonari is a young girl with a tragic backstory rooted in the catastrophic events of 2005, when Decepticon leader Galvatron crash-landed on Earth, obliterating Tokyo and shattering human-Transformer relations. Galvatron's scattered cells infected certain humans, creating Kiss Players with the ability to fuse with Transformers. Atari possessed the highest Kiss Player potential of all, which led EDC Commander Hitoshizuku Amaō to seek her out for a plan to resurrect her own deceased daughter. When Atari's parents refused to hand her over, they were killed and the murder covered up as a Transformer-related accident. Despite her submissive and passive nature, Atari's deep empathy for others and her powerful abilities made her a key figure in the Earth Defense Command's efforts.
