MegaHouse presents the Cosmo Fleet Special edition of the Gelvades Class Astro Battleship-carrier Darold from Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199. This detailed model kit captures one of the most distinctive vessels in the Garmillas Imperial Astro Fleet at approximately 160mm in length. The Darold was one of the first Gelvades-class Astro Battleship-carriers produced by the Greater Garmillan Empire's Weapons Development Agency. Originally built as a prototype, it was deactivated after only a small number of Gelvades-class ships were commissioned. The ship earned the nickname "Red Fire Dragon" from its crew due to its striking red coloration—indicating its status as a testbed vessel—and its unusual shape. In May of 2199, the Darold was reactivated and deployed as part of the Domel Task Force under the command of Colonel Dora Barek during the Battle of the Rainbow Star Cluster, where it launched a DBG.88 Garont heavy bomber armed with a weaponized asteroid mining drill at the Yamato before being destroyed. This Cosmo Fleet Special release faithfully reproduces the Darold's unique silhouette and crimson hull coloring, making it a standout piece for Space Battleship Yamato collectors.
