Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199 is a remake of the classic Space Battleship Yamato series, set in a future where Earth is under siege by the alien Gamilas Empire. The crew of the Yamato embarks on a perilous journey to the planet Iscandar to retrieve a device that can save humanity. The Guipellon Class Astro Carriers serve as part of the Gamilas fleet, massive vessels designed to launch and coordinate fighter operations across multiple flight decks. These carriers represent the technological might of the Gamilas forces that oppose the Yamato's mission.
