About this figure
Bandai presents Peguila from Ultra Q as part of the Roots of Ultraman line. This figure depicts the classic kaiju in a collectible format celebrating the origins of the Ultra franchise. Peguila, known as the Freezing Monster, debuted in episode 5 of Ultra Q, the 1966 tokusatsu series that laid the groundwork for the Ultraman franchise. In its debut story, Peguila migrated from south to north across Japan, unleashing an anti-gravity freezing mist that encased Tokyo in a new ice age while levitating objects and smashing them back down. The winged nightmare smashed through buildings by the dozen as Japanese self-defense forces fought back with little effect. The creature was ultimately defeated when a brave pilot crashed a Cessna plane carrying Pegimin H toxin directly into Peguila's mouth, driving the monster away. Notably, Peguila was the first Ultra kaiju to escape its debut episode and reappear in a different one, and its suit was later modified to create the kaiju Chandlar in Ultraman. The Roots of Ultraman line celebrates the foundational creatures of the Ultra series, and this Peguila figure honors the legacy of one of the franchise's earliest and most memorable monsters.
