About this figure

Sekkou Funmatsu Koubou presents a doujin figure of Kotonoha Akane from the Voiceroid software series. This prepainted figure is a fan-made collectible released through independent channels rather than through a major manufacturer. Kotonoha Akane is one half of the Kotonoha twins — a pair of VOICEROID+ voicebanks developed by AH-Software in collaboration with AI, Inc., released on April 25, 2014. Akane and her twin sister Aoi are the only dual characters in the VOICEROID product line, capable of speaking in Japanese. Their name carries poetic meaning: "Kotonoha" combines koto (a 13-string Japanese zither) and ha (leaf or fragment), suggesting the twins are two pieces that complete a single instrument. "Akane" refers to the Japanese madder plant and the red dye derived from it. Their voice provider is Yui Sakakibara, and the characters have since been adapted across VOICEROID2, Synthesizer V Studio, and A.I.VOICE platforms. This prepainted doujin figure was first released in December 2022 as a standard edition through BOOTH, with a limited edition following in August 2024 for Comic Market 104.
