Medicom Toy presents Kumatetsu and Kyuuta as part of their Ultra Detail Figure lineup, number 241, from the acclaimed animated film Bakemono no Ko, also known as The Boy and the Beast. This set captures the two central characters in their famous poses from the film's promotional materials. Bakemono no Ko is a 2015 film directed by Mamoru Hosoda under Studio Chizu. The story follows Kyuuta, a young orphaned boy who wanders into the beast realm of Jutengai and becomes the apprentice of Kumatetsu, a rough and impulsive warrior beast competing to become the next lord of the realm. Their unlikely mentorship forms the emotional core of the film, as both characters struggle with their own identities, loneliness, and the meaning of family. Kumatetsu's brash personality clashes with Kyuuta's stubbornness, but their bond gradually deepens into something resembling father and son. The figures stand at approximately 110mm (4.3 inches) for Kumatetsu and 63mm (2.5 inches) for Kyuuta. They are pre-painted ABS and PVC figures released in late September 2015, offered as a set capturing the duo's dynamic relationship.
