Arpeggio of Blue Steel is set in a near-future where global warming has submerged much of Earth's landmass. In 2039, mysterious sentient World War II-era warships known as the Fleet of Fog appear and impose a worldwide naval blockade, isolating nations from one another. Iona is the Mental Model—the humanoid avatar—of the submarine I-401, a Fog vessel that defies the fleet to side with humanity. She serves as the core of the crew led by Gunzou Chihaya, developing human-like emotions and self-awareness through her interactions. The DC film, released in January 2015, is a compilation and continuation of the anime series by Studio Sanzigen. Sculpted by Dragoncraft and hiro, this 180mm figure captures Iona's distinctive design from the film, reflecting her dual nature as both warship and developing sentient being.
