Higurashi: When They Cry – GOU is a sequel series to the original Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, a psychological horror franchise set in the rural village of Hinamizawa. Rena Ryugu is one of the central characters, known for her cheerful demeanor that masks a darker, more complex personality. Her signature weapon, the nata, has become an iconic element of her character design, symbolizing the tension between her outward innocence and the series' underlying horror.
