Unlike the more composed 2B, A2 is hot-tempered and direct, carrying the weight of being one of the few survivors of a failed mission that decimated her squad. NieR:Automata is set in a post-apocalyptic world where androids fight a proxy war against alien-created machines on behalf of humanity. The anime adaptation Ver1.1a retells the story with additional scenes and perspectives.
