Square Enix adds YoRHa No. 9 Type S, better known as 9S, to their FORM-ISM figure line from NieR: Automata. Standing approximately 170mm tall, this ABS and PVC figure depicts the beloved android scanner with his goggles on and wielding his iconic Cruel Arrogance weapon. In NieR: Automata, 9S is a YoRHa scanner-type android who accompanies the combat android 2B on missions against machine lifeforms that have overrun Earth. Unlike combat models, 9S specializes in hacking and intelligence gathering, but his curiosity, emotional depth, and evolving relationship with 2B form the emotional core of the game's narrative. His character arc explores themes of consciousness, identity, and what it means to be alive. The FORM-ISM line is designed to showcase diverse forms and styles, with sculptures meant to be displayed and appreciated from multiple directions. This 9S figure is scheduled for release in December 2024 and offers fans a stylish representation of one of gaming's most memorable protagonists.
