Kotobukiya's ARTFX J line presents Himura Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin in a 1/8 scale figure. Standing approximately 202mm tall and made from ABS and PVC, this figure was created under the full supervision of original author Nobuhiro Watsuki. Rurouni Kenshin is set during the early Meiji era and follows Himura Kenshin, a former assassin known as Battousai the Manslayer who fought for the imperialist side during the Bakumatsu war. Now wielding a reverse-blade sword that cannot kill, Kenshin wanders Japan seeking redemption for the lives he took. He settles at the Kamiya dojo where he meets Kaoru Kamiya, and throughout the series he confronts threats from his past while protecting those around him. The figure depicts Kenshin with his signature reverse-blade sword and sheath, capturing the dynamic movement of his Twin Ryukens two-stage sword technique. The figure's hair and kimono are sculpted to flow with the movement of the sword, creating a highly dynamic piece. The ARTFX J line focuses on Japanese cultural properties, and this Kenshin figure exemplifies the line's dedication to quality and authenticity.
